...A SPECIAL MARINE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 800 PM EDT...

For the following areas...
Lake Superior East of a line from Manitou Island to Marquette MI and
West of a line from Grand Marais MI to the US/Canadian Border Beyond
5NM from shore...

At 742 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 9 nm south of The
Eastern Lake Superior Buoy, moving southeast at 25 knots.

HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater and large hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and 
         suddenly higher waves. Large hail could result in 
         structural damage.

The severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.

Frequent lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.

...THUNDERSTORMS WITH GUSTY WINDS POISED TO MOVE OFFSHORE FROM EDISTO
BEACH SOUTH TO THE SAVANNAH RIVER ENTRANCE...

The areas affected include...
  Waters from South Santee River SC to Savannah GA out 20 NM...

* At 758 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms,
  capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These strong
  thunderstorms were located along a line from 14 NM north of Parris
  Island Reef to 9 NM northwest of Calibogue Sound, moving southeast
  at 15 knots.

Locations impacted include...
  Fripp Inlet Buoy, Fripp Island Wreck, Port Royal Sound, Saint
  Helena Sound, Pelican Bank, Parris Island Reef, Fish America,
  Gaskins Bank Wreck, Gaskin Banks, Whitewater Reef, Edisto Forty
  Reef, Calibogue Sound and Savannah River Entrance.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, lightning strikes, and heavy downpours. Boaters should seek
safe harbor immediately until these storms pass.
