...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM OVER THE OFFSHORE WATERS...

The areas affected include...
  Waters from Surf City NC to Little River Inlet SC from 20 to 60 
  NM...

At 148 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, 
capable of producing winds to around 30 knots and frequent 
lightning. This thunderstorm was located just northeast of the Esso 
Nashville wreck, moving east at 25 knots. This storm will continue 
to move farther offshore.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher 
waves, and lightning strikes. If caught on the open water, prepare 
for deteriorating conditions. Make sure you and your crew are 
wearing properly fitted life jackets.

The areas affected include...
Coastal waters from South Santee River to Edisto Beach SC out 20
NM...

* At 156 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms,
  capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These strong
  thunderstorms were located along a line from 10 NM north of Jimmy
  Leland Tug to near Capers Island Buoy, moving east at 20 knots.

Locations impacted include...
  Jimmy Leland Tug, Bull Breakers, Bulls Bay, Capers Island Buoy and
  Hector Reef.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, lightning strikes, and heavy downpours. Boaters should seek
safe harbor immediately until these storms pass.
