  Lake Superior East of a line from Manitou Island to Marquette MI
  and West of a line from Grand Marais MI to the US/Canadian Border
  Beyond 5NM from shore...
  Lake Superior West of Line from Manitou Island to Marquette MI
  Beyond 5NM from shore...
  Marquette to Munising MI...
  Munising to Grand Marais MI...

* Until 700 PM EDT.

* At 602 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing
  waterspouts were located along a line extending from Granite Island
  to near Presque Isle, moving east at 30 knots.

  HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts to nearly 50 knots, and large 
           hail.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally 
           hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly 
           higher winds and suddenly higher waves. Large hail could 
           result in structural damage.

* Locations impacted include...
  Shot Point, Shelter Bay, Grand Island, Au Train Island, Miners
  Castle, Laughing Whitefish Point, Granite Island, Presque Isle, and
  Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until midnight EDT for north
central Upper Michigan...and the adjacent waters of Lake Superior.

Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.

  Terrebonne Bay...

* Until 645 PM CDT.

* At 545 PM CDT, a cluster of severe thunderstorms capable of
  producing waterspouts was located along a line extending from 6 nm
  southeast of Dulac to 16 nm southwest of Timbalier Island, moving
  south at 10 knots.

  HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts to 40 knots, and small hail.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Waterspouts can quickly form and capsize boats...damage 
           vessels and oil rigs...and create suddenly higher waves. 
           Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and 
           suddenly higher waves.

* Locations impacted include...
  Terrebonne Bay, Isle Derniers, and Timbalier Island.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Strong winds will be dangerous for boaters or anyone near the water.
Boaters should avoid waterspouts and never try to navigate near them.
Make sure all on board are wearing life jackets. Seek shelter or move
to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.

Frequent lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.
