...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM OVER THE WATERS...

The areas affected include...
  Grand Marais to Whitefish Point MI...
  Lake Superior from Grand Marais MI to Whitefish Point MI 5NM off 
  shore to the US/Canadian border...

At 532 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, 
capable of producing winds to around 35 knots and small hail. This 
thunderstorm was located 24 nm north of Muskallonge State Park, or 
29 nm northwest of Whitefish Point, moving east at 40 knots.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until this storm passes.
