...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE WATERS...

The areas affected include...
  Lake Superior East of a line from Manitou Island to Marquette MI 
  and West of a line from Grand Marais MI to the US/Canadian Border 
  Beyond 5NM from shore...
  Lake Superior from Grand Marais MI to Whitefish Point MI 5NM off 
  shore to the US/Canadian border...

At 325 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were
located along a line extending from 46 nm north of Grand Sable Dunes
to 15 nm south of The Eastern Lake Superior Buoy to 13 nm east of
Stannard Rock, moving southeast at 35 knots.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until these storms pass.
