The National Weather Service in Mount Holly NJ has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for...
  Coastal and outer waters from Manasquan Inlet to Great Egg Inlet
  NJ...

* Until 800 PM EDT.

* At 623 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing
  waterspouts was located over Ship Bottom, moving southeast at 25
  knots.

  HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts in excess of 50 knots, and small 
           hail.

  SOURCE...Radar. At 609 PM EDT, a 55 knot wind gust was reported at 
           the Ship Bottom mesonet weather station.

  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally 
           hazardous seas. Boats could suffer significant structural 
           damage in high winds. Small craft could capsize in 
           suddenly higher waves.

* Locations impacted include...
  Beach Haven, North Beach Haven, Barnegat Light, Garden State North
  Reef, Little Egg Reef, Ship Bottom, Barnegat Light Reef, Garden
  State South Reef, Harvey Cedars, and Forked River.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to safe harbor immediately as gusty winds and high waves are
expected.

Frequent lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the
open water, stay below deck if possible and keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.
