...WATERSPOUTS POSSIBLE IN SHOWERS AND STORMS THIS MORNING...

A marine weather statement has been issued for the open coastal 
waters of southeastern louisiana west of the southwest pass of the 
Mississippi River out 60 NM. 

At 918 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a cluster of showers and 
thunderstorms extending from about 15 nm south of Terrebonne Bay to 
near Southwest Pass. These showers and storms are capable of 
producing weak waterspouts and are moving generally southeastward 
around 5-10 knots.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Dangerous lightning strikes and brief, weak waterspouts are possible
with this activity. Remain on alert in case warnings are issued for
waterspout development.

At 1038 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm,
capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. This thunderstorm was
located near Tampa Bay, moving east at 5 knots.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until this storm passes.
