Lake Superior East of a line from Manitou Island to Marquette MI and
West of a line from Grand Marais MI to the US/Canadian Border Beyond
5NM from shore...
Lake Superior from Grand Marais MI to Whitefish Point MI 5NM off
shore to the US/Canadian border...

At 1146 AM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 38 nm north of
Muskallonge State Park, or 40 nm east of The Eastern Lake Superior
Buoy, moving northeast at 15 knots.

HAZARD...Wind gusts to 40 knots and large hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and 
         suddenly higher waves. Large hail could result in 
         structural damage.

The severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until this storm passes.
Wind gusts to 40 knots, large hail, high waves, dangerous lightning,
and heavy rain are possible with this storm.
