...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM OVER THE WATERS...

The areas affected include...
  Lake Superior from Saxon Harbor WI to Upper Entrance to Portage 
  Canal MI 5NM off shore to the US/Canadian border including Isle 
  Royale National Park...

At 1103 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm,
capable of producing winds to around 30 knots and small hail. This
thunderstorm was located 11 nm south of The Western Lake Superior
Buoy, moving northeast at 30 knots.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Intense lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the open
water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded metal
objects.

MI 5NM off shore to the US/Canadian border including Isle Royale
National Park...

At 1143 AM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 7 nm southeast of
The Western Lake Superior Buoy, moving northeast at 15 knots.

HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater and large hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and 
         suddenly higher waves. Large hail could result in 
         structural damage.

The severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.
