* Until 545 AM CDT.

* At 408 AM CDT, a line of strong thunderstorms from the coast out 
  25 NM between the Matagorda Ship Channel and Bird Island, moving 
  north at 35 knots.

  HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Expect wind gusts in excess of 34 knots, suddenly higher 
           waves, frequent lightning, and heavy downpours. Make sure 
           all on board are wearing life jackets.

* Locations impacted include...
  Port Oconnor.

  Coastal waters from Freeport to Matagorda Ship Channel TX out 20
  NM...
  Matagorda Bay...

* Until 630 AM CDT.

* At 426 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing
  waterspouts was located 10 nm south of Port Oconnor, moving
  northeast at 25 knots.

  HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts to 40 knots.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally 
           hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly 
           higher winds and suddenly higher waves.

* Locations impacted include...
  Tabs Buoy W, Matagorda Ship Channel, Brazos 439, Brazos 490, East
  Matagorda Bay, Matagorda Island 557, Matagorda Jetty, Palacios Bay,
  Brazos 400, and Turtle Bay.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.

Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily
overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Seek safe harbor
immediately.

Frequent lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.
