The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for...
  Chandeleur Sound...
  Lake Borgne...
  Lake Pontchartrain...
  Lake Salvador and Lake Cataouatche...
  Mississippi Sound...

* Until 130 PM CDT.

* At 1236 PM CDT, a cluster of severe thunderstorms capable of
  producing waterspouts was located along a line extending from near
  Waveland to 12 nm south of Orleans Marina, moving east at 5 knots.

  HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts in excess of 50 knots.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Waterspouts can quickly form and capsize boats...damage 
           vessels and oil rigs...and create suddenly higher waves. 
           Boats could suffer significant structural damage in high 
           winds. Small craft could capsize in suddenly higher 
           waves.

* Locations impacted include...
  Waveland, Pass Christian, Lake Borgne, Ship Island, Cat Island, Bay
  St. Louis, Mississippi Sound, Long Beach, Rigolets, Gulf Park
  Estates, Ocean Springs, Biloxi, and Gulfport.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 500 PM CDT for southeastern
Louisiana...southern Mississippi...and the adjacent coastal waters.

Dangerous high winds, waterspouts and suddenly higher waves are
expected! Boaters should avoid waterspouts and never try to navigate
near them. Seek shelter or move to safe harbor immediately!
