  Waters from Cape Lookout  to Surf City NC from 20 to 60 NM...
  Waters from Ocracoke Inlet to Cape Lookout NC from 20 to 60 NM...

* Until 845 AM EDT.

* At 637 AM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing
  waterspouts was located near 14 Buoy, moving east at 20 knots.

  HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts to 40 knots.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally 
           hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly 
           higher winds and suddenly higher waves.

* Locations impacted include...
  Northwest Places, Ar285, Atlas Tanker, 14 Buoy, R-8 Buoy, The
  Knuckle Buoy, and Big Ten Fathom.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until this storm passes.
Wind gusts to 40 knots, high waves, dangerous lightning, and heavy
rain are possible with this storm.

Frequent lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.
