  Waters from Cape Hatteras to Ocracoke Inlet NC from 20 to 60 NM...
  Waters from Oregon Inlet to Cape Hatteras NC from 20 to 60 NM...

* Until 930 AM EDT.

* At 730 AM EDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line
  extending from 40 nm east of Monitor Marine Sanctuary to 19 nm
  southeast of Diamond Shoals, moving southeast at 15 knots.

  HAZARD...Wind gusts to 40 knots.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and 
           suddenly higher waves.

* Strong thunderstorms will remain over mainly open waters.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass.
Wind gusts to 40 knots, high waves, dangerous lightning, and heavy
rain are possible with these storms.

Frequent lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.
